Sony plans He-Man film, but the name is still redundant

Posted on 24 September 2009 by HansKlopek

Been a big He-Man fan all my life, and by all my life I mean before Power Rangers got popular. Anyway, Sony is planning a He-Man picture right now and I’m happy. The enthusiasm is written all over my face. Trust me.

heman_articleVariety tells us that Sony is currently finalizing a deal with Mattel to get He-Man and the Masters of the Universe onto the big screen. The project will revolve, of course, around the adventures of Eternia’s prince-turned-warrior He-Man and his battles with craggy villain dude, Skeletor.

The project had recently been set up with Joel Silver producing, but Mattel took back the rights after years of inactivity on the project (shame on you, Joel). The project is back and rolling with Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch producing. Should be sweet. I like He-Man.
