Okay, so I thought that I was somewhat underwhelmed by the trailer for Paranormal Activity, but I could have sworn I just saw a chair rocking on its own out of the corner of my eye. I’m sure it was nothing.
Anyway, for those interested, Paranormal Activity is a movie that appears to using the extremely tired Blair Witch Project gimmick and acting as if they just thought of it themselves last week. The poster was recently released, and is featured off to the side. Click on it to see the big version.
I’m really not wanting to come down on the movie, but when one of your quotes for the poster and trailer proclaims it to be “one of the scariest movies of all time,” then the thing had better deliver.
From what I saw, I’m not terribly impressed, although I really dig the subject matter and I’m legitimately hoping for the best of things. Really, the majority of what’s featured here is nightvision footage of an audience freaking out, and not so much from the actual movie.
Anyway, I’m interested, but hopefully the movie will send a few more chills down my spine than this trailer did. There is an interesting little final tidbit here. The trailer ends with an offer for people who are in cities (like mine) that won’t be getting this movie initially to go to the movie’s website and “Demand It.” I wish more movies would do this. Like Thirst.
Well, I’ve rambled long enough. Without further ado, here’s the trailer for Paranormal Activity. I hope you enjoy it!
