Hey there. I’ve been keeping an eye on Werner Herzog as much as I possibly can. He has two films premiering along the film festival circuit this fall and one of them looks very…un-Herzog.
One of them is My Son, My Son What Have Ye Done? And the other one is Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, the not-exactly-a-remake of Abel Ferrara’s 1992 drama Bad Lieutenant, which starred Harvey Keitel. The new one stars Nicolas Cage, Eva Mendes, and Val Kilmer, and Herzog says that he’s never seen Ferrara’s version and that this is totally his baby. Even so, it doesn’t look like anything Herzog has ever touched before.
A trailer showed up on the internet a few months ago, looking very strange indeed (complete with hallucinated iguanas and lines like “Shoot him again–his soul’s still dancing”) and now we’ve got a poster that just makes it look like a very run-of-the-mill cop drama. All in all, I have no idea what to think about this film. What do you think??
Anyway, check out this poster, courtesy of ComingSoon.net. Click it for the big one.
