Good news for all those, like me, who thought the new Star Trek movie was unbelievably awesome: they are re-releasing it in 100 IMAX locations on Friday.
The reboot of the classic franchise has pulled in nearly $260 million domestically since it opened in May. It’s month long IMAX run upon its release was cut short due to IMAX’s obligation to Night at the Museum 2. Since that film opened, there have also been runs dedicated to Transformers and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, but now that those runs have been completed, Star Trek can settle back in for its stint on the super big screen.
This sounds awesome to me. I saw the flick three times in the theater and still feels like not quite enough. We are going to have to wait a bit longer for its DVD and Blu Ray release in November, but that’s okay. Anything worth having is worth waiting on.
