Gus Van Sant appears to have decided upon his next film after seeing major success with last year’s Milk, and it’s a little film called Restless.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, specific plot details are under wraps for now, but it’s being described as a “contemporary and distinct take on young love.” And frankly, I’m going to need a bit more than that because that sounds…just awful.
The film is from a script by first-time writer Jason Lew, who attended New York University with Bryce Dallas Howard, who will be producing along with her pappy, Ron and Brian Grazer, the guy holding his strings.
It would sound like Van Sant returning to his low-key indie roots, if not for the Howard, Howard, and Grazer portion. Expect to see a big, annoying Oscar run for this one.
