Singer to develop Excalibur remake

Posted on 21 August 2009 by HansKlopek

Hey folks. Hans here again with some news about a very busy boy, Mr. Bryan Singer.

excalibur_articleA couple of weeks ago I reported on Singer’s development of a miniseries dealing with Mayan prognostications about the end of the world in 2012. Dude is sticking his hands in a lot of different pies these days, as the Hollywood Reporter reports that he is currently planning a remake of the 1981 John Boorman directed film Excalibur which is a retelling of the Arthurian legend and shit.

The project only just got going and things are still very much in the talking stage. Singer has a lot on his plate these days, what with this Mayan miniseries business as well as the Battlestar Galactica film going at Universal and the action fantasy Jack the Giant Killer going over at New Line. Rustlings along the grapevine say that Excalibur is far from being dude’s next directorial effort. Still I think it is interesting that he is becoming such a mogul and development whore. For a long time there he was just a regular average joe director. Amazing what a couple Superman and X-Men efforts can do for you.
