Usual Suspects scribe to pen Wolverine sequel

I’m a big Chris McQuarrie fan, and apparently, so are the freaks behind the Wolverine movie. So much so that they want him to write the sequel which, at this moment, is gonna be set in Japan.

wolvie2_articleThe annoucement of McQuarrie’s hiring comes just a few days after Hugh Jackman told MTV News that that they are still in the early stages of hammering out the story. It is set to follow an early 80s miniseries written by Frank Miller and Chris Claremont in which Wolverine battled a band of ninjas while fighting with the choice of living by his animal instincts or according to a samurai code of honor.

I thought the first Wolverine was retarded, but in a good way. I wouldn’t mind seeing a sequel. McQuarrie is a good choice. The Usual Suspects is still one of my favorite movies and Valkyrie was criminally underrated. He was also one of the writers on the original X-Men but asked that his name be removed when he saw that the finished product bore no resemblance to his original work. Feel good, dude. X-Men fuckin sucked.

I don’t care who writes it–unless they figure out a way to make it all-around not terrible, then it will be…well…terrible.
