Bigelow hits the Frontier for her next project

Having seen some terrific success with The Hurt Locker, director Kathryn Bigelow has lined up her next film and she’s sticking with the same screenwriter.

bigelowAccording to Variety, she will be directing Triple Frontier, an action-adventure film scripted by Hurt Locker writer Mark Boal.

Not much is known about the plot of the film just yet, except that it will be set in the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil, a “haven for organized crime.”

Bigelow is one hell of a director and Boal one hell of a writer and I’m sure whatever they crank out ought to be a pretty strong endeavor.  I’m looking forward to this one!

Just watched Strange Days. Wicked weird that she went on to do the Hurt Locker.

Yeah, I watched Strange Days about a month ago. I was kinda with it up until the end. The ending was overly predictable and utterly lame. Didn’t really do much for me. Suffice it to say, The Hurt Locker is waaaaay better.

Strange Days also took a fuckload of time getting going. I was sitting there as it approached the one hour mark and had to remark “there really isn’t any story to speak of yet in this movie.”
