Singer to develop Mayan Armageddon mini-series

Posted on 06 August 2009 by HansKlopek

Hans here with a little bit of news about one of my favorite directors and hopefully one of yours, Bryan Singer. Old boy  will be  jumping back into the maelstrom of showbiz with a mini-series exploring Mayan predictions of the apocalypse in 2012.

bryan singerA far cry from the superhero shenanigans of X-Men and Superman Returns. Broadcasting Cable reports that Singer will be teaming with SyFy on the project which will blend theories, myths and facts into its plotline and will center around a professor travelling the world trying to prevent the Mayan predictions from actually happening. Sounds kind of like Knowing, and we can only hope that it lives up to the high standard that film set. The project is set up to be a six hour miniseries though, so Singer will have plenty of time to unravel the Mayan enigma.

Bryan Singer is just one of those guys that, no matter what he is doing, you have faith that it is going to be interesting if nothing else. You kind of buy yourself a career’s worth of credibility when you make a movie that it is as good as The Usual Suspects. I say go get em, kid.
