It’s rare that I get really excited about a (non-Pixar) family film. So imagine my shock that there are two kiddie-film that I’m looking forward to. And wouldn’t you know it? They’re both hitting an IMAX screen near me.
It is confirmed that Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, the computer animated film based (very loosely) on the popular children’s book, will get a release on the biggest of big screens. As a CG film, it will, of course, be released in 3D, so look forward to having some giant meat flying at your face!
More importantly, though, is that Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are will also be getting an IMAX release October 16. No 3D on this one, but who gives a damn. I mean, based on the trailer, it looks like the movie will be visually lush enough to blow us away in its traditional 2D form. Can’t wait.
