After the success he had with the kinda-overrated The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, it seems that David Fincher isn’t quite ready to go back to making David Fincher movies.
According to Variety, Fincher is in talks to direct The Social Network, a film about the birth and growth of that pesky Facebook, from a script by none other than Aaron Sorkin.
While this would immediately sound disposable and awful to me, I’m intrigued by the fact that Sorkin’s behind the script. Between all of his television work as well as The American President and Charlie Wilson’s War, Sorkin shows that he’s always dependable to punch out a pretty decent little picture.
But does Fincher blend well with Sorkin?? A year ago, I would’ve said hell no, but after this whole Button thing, I don’t know what to believe anymore.
