Here Comes the Teen Wolf Remake. Surprised?

Well, you shouldn’t be.  Shep actually gets a little annoyed at us reporting all these remakes because 1) half of them never make it off the ground and 2) it might be easier to keep a running list of what’s not getting remade.

teenwolficonNews comes out today that Warner Bros. is set to remake the 1985 teen comedy Teen Wolf…the film that starred up-and-comer Michael J. Fox as a reluctant and cuddly werewolf playing basketball with Francis from Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure (Mark Holton is his name).

Moviehole tells us that no writer, director, or actors have been put into place yet.  Click HERE for the whole story.

Of all the remakes I’ve heard about, this is the one I’m most okay with.  I grew up on the original film, and I love it, but it’s far from a masterpiece.  Updating it for a new audience might be kind of fun and fresh in our current culture, and I’d love for a new group of teenieboppers to have an excuse to track down the original.

This isn’t sacred ground to me.  Though if there isn’t a moment where the werewolf looks in the mirror and proclaims “You are an animal!” followed by a cheesy howl, I will be disappointed.

So how about it?  Good idea?  Bad idea?  Or does anyone even care?

I feel the same way about this. I liked the original, it was fun and quirky, but it wasn’t a masterpiece. I’m definitely going to give it a chance.
