J.J. Abrams to produce Mission: Impossible 4!

Remember how great J.J. Abrams’ Mission: Impossible 3 was?  Well so does Tom Cruise, which is why the smily Scientologist is working with the Star Trek director to produce a new Mission: Impossible film.

mission-impossible-3“I am incredibly honored that Tom has invited me back as a producer on Mission Impossible 4,” said Abrams.  ”Tom and I have come up with a really cool idea we are pursuing.”

I really kind of like the idea behind the MI film series–allowing a new director to helm each installment and bring his own flavor to the table.  This move, though, implies that Cruise is hoping to keep the franchise more in line with the previous movie.  Check out the rest of the story at  Spoiler TV.

You should have grabbed J.J. a few months earlier, Tom.  I’m guessing his rate’s gone up considerably now that he has a successful space opera under his belt.

So now we can start speculating about directors.  Who would you guys want?  Personally I’d like to see Zack Snyder or Michael “Shoot ‘em Up” Davis.

Or Darron Aronofsky.  But I’d like to see him direct just about anything.

  1. Scott Says:

Aronofsky would be great as an MI director. Tom can’t pull off complex characters, as seen in “Valkyrie,” so Aronosfsky has no shot to be an MI director.
