Soon we’ll be getting The Princess and the Frog, Disney’s first 2-D animated feature in years. Then, in 2010, we’ll get Rapunzel…which I’ve always wanted to see a Disney take on. But what about 2011?
Have no fear, mouse house fans, Blue Sky Disney is reporting that 2011 will give us a brand new, high quality “Winnie the Pooh” 2-D animated feature.
“Big deal!” you scream out. ”My kid sister’s been watching those crappy “Pooh” movies for years! They’re…well…pooh.” Not so fast, haters. Seems this one is going to be put together by the same team that’s doing the other theatrical releases, so the hope would be that it’s going to be kicked up a few notches on the “quality” scale.
Personally, I’d love to see a really well-done animated “Pooh” adventure in theaters. There has always been something so whimsical and classic about the characters…I think with the right talent behind it the film could be timeless.
More than that, I’m excited because I have a three-year-old niece that needs to get into “Pooh.” In fact, I can’t wait for all these (hopefully) quality Disney productions to come out so we can pull her away from “Dora the Explorer,” and, God help us all, “Barney.”
For you fans out there, here’s a blast from the past. Trippy…
