Conchords Fly to Horror? Brett and Jemaine in Diagnosis: Death!

Here’s the bad news.  All signs point to an end for the fantastically hilarious TV series Flight of the Conchords.  Lucky, then, that the comedic kiwis have other projects lined up.

flightconchordsThat’s right, Brett  McKenzie and Jemaine Clement are attached to star in, of all things, a horror film.  Though it might be more appropriate to put “horror” in quotes.

According to Shock Till You Drop, the horror-comedy is called Diagnosis: Death, and it’s about two cohorts undergoing extreme anti-cancer therapy.  Here’s a quote:

“Locked in a medical facility over a weekend as guinea pigs for a drug trial, they discover the clinic may pose more harm than they could have imagined. The drugs cause hallucinations. Or are they seeing ghosts for real? Struggling with their senses, they must team up to solve a haunting secret.”

Sounds like it might have a lot of promise, especially if they embrace the inherant, goofy Scooby-Doo-ness of the premise.  If Conchords is any indication, these are the right guys to pull this off.
