Our First Look at Disney’s The Princess and The Frog! Welcome back, hand-drawn animation.

I love hand-drawn animation. So when Disney decided to shut down their cell animation department, a little part of me died.

So much so, in fact, that I wrote an entire article on the subject…which you can find HERE.

Leave it to John Lasseter, a pioneer of CG animated films, to revitalize the world of traditional animation.

This is the first footage I’ve seen of The Princess and the Frog, Disney’s New Orleans spin on the classic fairytale.  And…well, honestly, I’m less than blown away.  It feels a little overly-goofy and pandering.  But this is VERY early, and these might be very out-of-context snippets.  I’ll reserve judgement until I see a full trailer.  Fingers crossed that this one is as good as the talent of those working on it would imply.
