This one falls under the “I’ll believe it when I see it” category, but it makes me geek out enough that it’s worth posting.
On the red carpet for the Wolverine premiere, IESB came across Fox chairman Tom Rothman and managed to get a more-than-a-little-interesting quote about whether we will ever see a prequel to Alien:
“There’s been some talk. Ridley Scott, Ridley is right now working on Robin Hood, but I think he’s toying with the idea and that would be great for us. I mean, it’s always been a matter of, really, if you can get the originator to do it that would be the greatest thing, so I’ve got my fingers crossed, all of them.”
Sounds great, but will Ridley deign to return to “lesser” material? I mean, he’s moved on to bigger and better things…like Monopoly.
I’d love to see an Alien prequel. I want to know how the hell that damn space ship got to the surface of that planet! Where do the Aliens come from. I know, the mystery is part of the fun, but I’m sure Ridley Friggin’ Scott could find some damn cool stuff to do with a prequel.
