Venom from the comics is complex because only because he has been around 20 years now. The extent of "venom" in Spiderman 3 should have only been as the Alien Costume. Venom deserves his own movie, as the sole villian. Just too many villians in Spiderman 3. I would have used only Sandman, and only Sandman. Spiderman 4 would have been to show the Black suits dark influences. Ending in his seperating himself from it. Still no Venom however. Spiderman 5 however should be about Venom, seeking revenge...The story of Venom is best served told in Stages over 3 films. My heart was broken when Topher Grace turned him into the pathetic, chirpy bastard that showed up in Spidey 3. When Venom got his own comic, he was a roving anti-hero who lived by his own rules and kicked ass along the way. I'm not sure how marketable an authentic screen translation of that would be, but hopefully whatever they come up with will at least be better than Punisher: War Zone.
