Quaid here. Seems the forces of Hollywood have given Mr. David O. Russell yet another job. A couple of weeks back we reported that infamous (and insanely talented) director David O. Russell was attached to direct The Silver Linings Playbook about a high-school teacher being released from a mental institution.
This newly announced title is high-school themed as well. It’s called Aaron and Sarah, and it revolves around a couple of friends who experience a lot of high school shenanigans and end up falling in love in the process. Sounds very…conventional.
Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen of Milk fame will produce. Most interestingly, Russell will not be writing the script himself…because it’s already been written by Chad Gomez Creasey and Dara Resnik Creasey.
This project has that feeling of “gotta do it to stay in the biz” around it to me. Russell is famous for his temper, and I’m thinking he’s doing a project on which he can prove his newly acquired even tempere-ness.
I still wanna know if he and Clooney really got into a fist fight on the set of Three Kings.
Variety has more.
