Quaid here with a few quick news bits worth mentioning this Sunday afternoon.
First off, Illumination Entertainment is going ahead with production of its first feature film. The script, written by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, will revolve around an out-of-work man who accidentally runs over the Easter Bunny with his car, maiming the poor man-bunny. When the Easter Bunny’s leg proves decidedly broken, the man must train to take over the job. No word yet on casting, but if Tim Allen is in this I might have to punch a kitty. More details at Variety.
Next up, Batman/John Connor himself, Christian Bale, has joined the cast of Prisoner, based on Aaron Guzikowski’s script. The story follows a cop who has a run-in with a small-town carpenter while investigating the disappearance of his six-year-old daughter.
Mark Wahlberg is also set to star, but the film does not yet have financing. More at The Risky Biz Blog.
Finally, Faith No More frontman Mike Patton is set to voice one of seven vehicles that form Devastator in the Transformers sequel. This one comes from Movieweb.
