Wolverine 2 in the works Already??? And guess who’s writing it…

Hi, all.  Quaid here.  AICN has posted a scoop sent in by an individual at the Bradford International Film Festival in the UK.  Here is what he says, complete with errors and weird line breaks:

wolverine-origins-fl1“i’m currently working at the bradford international film festival in the UK, and tonight we had simon beaufoy, screenwriter of slumdog millionaire doing a screentalk.

anyway he dropped a bit of a scoop, hes been employed to write the script for “wolverine 2″ a film

i didnt actually realise was even in the pipeline.

he commented that while he was apprehensive about the project (claiming to not even know what a wolverine was!) his agent pursuaded him to take it on.”

he clarified that working on a film thats successor has yet to be finished was a strange experience, and one that he wasnt sure he was comfortable with. anyway, i read your site everyday and figured id send this interesting little tidbit over,

adam”

So…the writer of Slumdog Millionaire is writing a Wolverine movie?  That’s kind of badass, ya ask me.  I’m not overly excited for this first one coming out, but I love it when geek movies get talented and well-respected filmmakers attached to them.

Seems appropriate. This first one was made by the guy that directed “Tsotsi,” the winner for Best Foreign Language Film from a few years ago. I guess Oscar-winning foreign guys is just the trend that they’re going for with the Wolverine movies. And I think that’s kinda cool.
