Quaid here, with a quick bunch of casting updates for those interested. Let’s keep this short and sweet, shall we?
First off, Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood movie has a few new names attached to it. Vanessa Redgrave will portray John and Richard’s mother, Queen Eleanor. Oscar Isaac will play King John, and Mark Strong will be the henchman Sir Godfrey. They’ll all be chewing scenery around Russell Crowe as Robin Hood.
Also, Jon “Mad Men” Hammond has joined the cast of Howl, a movie based on the obscenity trial of Alan Ginsberg. The movie sounds crazy indie, splicing in animated sequences of Ginsberg’s character reciting his famous poem. Hamm plays an attorney. Mary-Louise Parker, David Strathairn, James Franco, Bob Balaban, Treat Williams, Alessandro Nivola, and the incomparable Jeff Daniels also star.
Finally, Edward the Vampire is looking to write some Memoires. The Twilight star plans to star in the film which is being written by Rachel Getting Married scribe Jenny Lumet. It’s about lovers dealing with family tragedy. Deep.
