We’ve got us a trailer for Chan-wook Park’s Thirst!

South Korean director Chan-wook Park has gone and made himself a nifty-looking little vampire picture called Thirst and we’ve got ourselves a terrific trailer right here! Unfortunately the trailer isn’t in English, but it’s still enough for me to see a lot of the tendencies of the director that I love–the screeching, passionate violins, the intense performances, and the wickedly macabre. We got some translations for the trailer from AICN, however, so I’ll throw those in below. And they’re quite scintillating!thirst1

This movie, about a priest who gets turned into a vampire as the result of a failed medical experiment, is currently expected to premiere at Cannes in May where Park won the Grand Prix in 2004 for Oldboy.

Now, I have to say that I fancy myself to be one of the biggest fans of Oldboy on the planet, and Lady Vengeance is pretty damn amazing as well. Park has some unbelievable talent and the second I heard he was working on a vampire film, my spine got all tingly. I love, love, LOVE this director and can’t wait for him to show those Twilight bastards how the fuck it’s done. After Let the Right One In, and with this on the horizon, it’s starting to look like the foreign vampire film is shaping up to be one hell of a genre.

Take a look at the trailer right here and take a peek below for the English-language translations.
