There is nothing I look forward to more than a 3D movie event extravaganza! Too bad we only have the new Jonas Brothers: 3D Concert Experience “movie.”
They are so dreamy.
In addition, we also get some testosterone-driven counter-programming with 20th Century Fox’s Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li. This one is about “the ultimate battle…between good and evil” on the streets of Bangkok.
Eh, I was always a Mortal Kombat kinda kid.
Assassination of a High School President also comes out this week, promising to mix the teen awkwardness subgenre with political thrillers like The Manchurian Candidate. Which actually sounds kinda cool. There was a time I would have totally dismissed this, but after seeing how well Brick managed to weave teen-angst into another genre, I’ll give it a shot.
Harrison Ford and Ray Liotta star in an immigration drama/thriller about the difference between the American dream and the American reality. It’s called Crossing Over…and it does not have John Edward in it. I feel cheated.
Echelon Conspiracy comes out. It has Ving Rhames, Martin Sheen, and Edward Burns in it. It’s about a cell phone that is untraceable and gives you all the unknowable secrets in the universe.
And the government wants to get their hands on it!
Overall, not a stellar weekend for releases. But that will all change next week. I think we all know what that means.
