Hi all, Quaid here. This week is really weak on movie releases, but there are a couple worth mentioning. So let’s go…
First off we get Fired Up, the newest teen comedy about sexy scantily clad cheerleaders and horny teenage males’ attempts to bed them. This time we see a group of football boys infiltrate a cheerleading camp. Of course, they get swept away and end up helping with the girls’ routine.
I really enjoy teen sex comedies like Porky’s and even American Pie. But this one is rated a solid PG-13, meaning the “adult themes” stay fairly kid-friendly. Also (and I can’t believe I am going to admit this to the entire world), I enjoyed the original Bring it On. What can I say, I like some bad 90′s teen movies. But I think I’ve outgrown that phase, and teen movies aren’t what they used to be. They’re usually worse (if that’s possible).
Second on the list is Tyler Perry Presents Tyler Perry in a Tyler Perry Film, Madea Goes to Jail, written and directed by Tyler Perry. I swear, this guy has more movies come out in a year than Uwe Boll, and, to be honest, I am not terribly interested in seeing most of them. They make money, though, so he keeps making them. And they obviously have an audience, so hey, who am I to judge? I’ll stay away, but you guys can do what you want.
Well, that’s pretty much it. If you’re looking for a movie this weekend, I’d suggest checking out Coraline (see Shep’s review HERE) in 3D if you haven’t seen it. And if you have seen it, see it again. I think it will probably still be more rewarding than the other two new options this week.
