UPDATED – Transformers Trailer: Bay gives us serious damage.

Posted on 16 February 2009 by Quaid

Hey, Quaid here.  I am one of the few (maybe the only one) on this site who are looking forward to Michael Bay’s Transformers sequel.  I was really hesitant on the first movie, and I still don’t exactly think it is good, but it is a lot of fun.  If there is one thing Bay is good for (and that is still somewhat up for dabate) it is making an awesome robot war movie.

transformers_revenge_smallThis one looks like it is off-the-wall in its scope.  I just hope it lets itself be goofy and fun.  While I hated the “masturbation discussion” scene in the original, I loved some of the more campy elements.  Especially John Turturro’s performance which seemed to come out of the movie I wished I was watching, and not the one that was in front of me.  Still, the original was great eye candy, and this one looks to be doing the same thing.

That being said, the tone of this trailer is crazy serious.  Trailers lie, and we don’t see many acting moments (who needs em, right Bay?), so who knows if this will end up overly dramatic.

I wouldn’t say I’m waiting for this movie, but I will see it with an opening weekend crowd.  I’ll check my brain at the door and hope Shia can give me a good time.

Here is the bootleg trailer that appeared before Friday the 13th (but not in my theater).

UPDATE - Here is a link to the high quality trailer over at Yahoo.

Wow. Stirring. Having to live up to The Asylum’s “Transmorphers” is a hell of a task, but it looks like Michael Bay really knows how to raise the bar in the machinees-turning-into-other-machines genre.

    That trailer looks badass.

  3. Quaid Says:

Transmorphers was NOTHING like transformers. It was closer to Terminator set in the future. And lets not bag on the Asylum….someone has to do quality DTV movies that are actually not good at all and rip off titles and plotlines from better movies but insert boobs and can’t afford real action scenes so they use crazy music and bad CGI and sets.

    Just sayin’.

The Harry Potter movies are brilliant and this one is no exception – both my kids and my parents love them, they truly span the ages.

I think this is the best Harry Potter movie yet, much darker than the previous ones
